Item Upgrades

Item upgrades play an important role in the gameplay of Cat Quest 2.

Items can be upgraded in two ways: by spending gold at blacksmiths (Kit Kat for Armor/Headgear and Hotto Doggo for Weapons/Magic Weapons); or by acquiring duplicate items from a chest or quest reward.

A player can never have multiple copies of the same item. Any time a duplicate is found, the game will add levels to the item already in their possession. The amount of levels gained is relative to the level of the chest or quest awarding the duplicate item.

Every item has a base stat for each of its stats (see Equipment) and with each level, it gains these base stats once on default and once for every 10 levels the item already has.

A practical example:

Cat Soldier Armor has a base stat of 12 , therefore between levels 1 through 9, it will gain 12 per level. At level 10, however it will start gaining 24 per level, at level 20, 36 per level, and so on.

Spell Upgrades

Spells can be upgraded at The Arcane Headpawters. The ability to upgrade spells is unlocked during the Quest 03: Arcane Kitties quest and it allows, in exchange for gold to damage and efficiency of the single spells.
